Stradun
Stradun is the main street in the old centre of Dubrovnik and the most famous street in Croatia. It stretches from the western to the eastern entrance to the walls of Dubrovnik. If you've rented an apartment, room or vacation house in Dubrovnik, you haven't been there if you haven't had a coffee on Stradun or stretched your legs from the Gate od Pile to the Gate od Ploče, along Stradun. Stradun is all made of shiny stone, but it got its current appearance in the 17th century after the catastrophic earthquake in 1667. It has been used since the 12th century as a place for meetings and events - the palaces of Dubrovnik families are lined up along Stradun, creating a fairy-tale scenery for gatherings, such as New Year's Eve on Stradun. Stradun, a word that sings and is sung, is the most beautiful invitation to visit Renaissance Dubrovnik at any time of the year and day.
