Šibenik waterfront, known as Šibenska riva or Dr. Franjo Tuđman Promenade, acquired its present-day appearance in the 1950s. If you rent accommodation in Šibenik, take a stroll down to the waterfront, and you will discover a place for walking and socializing. It is the narrowest waterfront compared to those in other coastal cities, yet wide enough for enjoying the seaside in this picturesque Mediterranean settlement. From the Šibenik waterfront, the view does not extend to the islands or the open sea but only to the entrance of the St. Ante Channel, which is actually a part of the submerged river estuary. Nevertheless, the sea here is salty and relatively clean due to installed collectors. That is why, you will often find a few fishermen at the top of the waterfront, especially in winter months when the coast is free of moored boats. During the summer months, the waterfront transforms into a stage for social events, with crowds of people and boats, and stands offering trips to the Šibenik islands. The Šibenik waterfront is bordered by a road leading to Dolac, and across the road, there are terraces of cafes and restaurants. Sitting on the waterfront for a coffee on a sunny day is a particular pleasure and a habit for the locals. From there, the view extends to the Mandalina D-resort and all the way to the Šibenik Bridge.
