Šibenik is a city in the middle of Dalmatia, somewhere on the half way between Zadar and Split. It has big traffic influence, as through Šibenik passes Jadranska magistrala which is the main road through Dalmatia, and the main tourist road through Croatia, highway A1, is branching for Šibenik. It is one of bigger dalmatian cities, alongside with Split and Zadar. Coast line of Šibenik region is 56,2 kilometers of air line, and 805,9 kilometers in real. The sea is the biggest treasure for the whole region. Šibenik is surrounded by national parks and nature parks. Climate on this area is typical Mediterranean, with mild winters and hot summers. Three type of wings are characteristically for this area, they are Jugo (warm wind which blows from the sea and brings wet and instable whether), Bura (cold wind which blows from the coast and brings colder whether, but stable and sunny) and Maestral (it helps during the summer to stand the hotness). Accommodation in Šibenik is mostly in hotels, but if you want to stay at the edge parts of town, it will be easy for you to find some beautiful villa or apartment for rent. In the center you can rent a flat or stay in a hotel, but just as you step out from the center you will experience the availability of many other types of accommodation. If you look at the peripheral of Šibenik, then it would be possible to stay in some camp, bungalows, apartments or any other type of accommodation which is characteristic for smaller places. Sport and recreation are available at every step in Šibenik. Very attractive is bungee jumping which is available at Šibenik Bridge. Tourists are also very likely to take rafting tours, or ski jet tours around islands in the archipelago. Tours to national parks are very popular as well. Beaches in Šibenik are nice, but in the neighborhood could be found a real oasis. Cultural life of Šibenik is very interesting. Tourists could visit numerous museums, attend many festivals which are held during the summer, or go to sightseeing as many sculptures and buildings from the past could be seen in Šibenik. Some of them are Bishops Palace, Cathedral of St. Jakov, Šibenik city walls, Monument to Petar Krešimir IV, Rector's Palace in Šibenik (Šibenik City Museum), numerous fortresses and much more. Šibenik is a tourist center, and also a center of culture as its rich history could be seen on every step.
