Veliki Pokrivenik beach on Hvar is one of those beaches that few people know about. It is located outside the tourist routes, and there are many on our sunniest island. It is hidden in a deep cove of the same name, near the village Pokrivenik in the north of the island. It overlooks the shores of Brač and Makarska and preserves great pebbles beneath the rocky sides of the bay and the cleanest imaginable sea. It is easily reached by boat or by car from Jelsa, which is just over 20 kilometers away by the island road. If you have rented an apartment, room or holiday house in Hvar, visit Veliki Pokrivenik in the morning while the sun is peeking into the bay warming the turquoise shallows, and book a table at one of the nearby restaurants to treat all your senses with the flavors of the island and the Mediterranean.
