Palamida, a delicious fish from the depths of the blue Adriatic, hides in canals and closed bays when it is not sailing in open waters, in search of the delicious blue fish it feeds on. Palamida beach in Novalja may have been named after this predator from the depths of the sea, perhaps it is this bay where palamida once sought their shelter from larger and stronger fish for which it is food. Why this beach is named so, we are not quite sure, but we know that today it is home to swimmers and lovers of the Mediterranean wilderness, shelter from the stress of everyday life and crowds on other beaches on the island of Pag in the heart of the Adriatic. If you have rented an apartment, room or holiday house in Novalja on Pag, you will find Palamida about ten kilometers to the northwest, on the shores overlooking distant Lošinj and Cres islands, on the way to Lun that crowns the northern cape of the island. No road leads to the beach, only a macadam road on which you turn towards Vidasovi Stanovi, so this belt of pebble in a picturesque bay can only be yours, and even in the heart of summer. The beach is surrounded by low green vegetation, it is small and intimate, very different from other beaches on the island. A place that is remembered and where one can enjoy with all the senses.
