Jadrija Lighthouse is a lighthouse located on the island of Jadrija, long connected to the mainland at the exit of the Šibenik Channel. If you rent accommodation in Šibenik and decide to visit the city beach Jadrija or one of the nearby islands, this beacon will guide your way. The Jadrija Lighthouse was built in 1874 and is one of the most famous lighthouses in Croatia. Standing 42 meters tall, it is situated on an extended cape overlooking the St. Nicholas Fortress, another gem of Šibenik historical heritage. Access to the Jadrija Lighthouse can be achieved by boat from Šibenik or by car from the nearby Srime, coming from Vodice. Lighthousekeeper families used to take turns here until automation eliminated the need for a constant presence. The Jadrija Lighthouse is a crucial part of maritime navigation in the Šibenik Channel and a popular tourist attraction offering a beautiful view of the nearby fortress and the islands of the archipelago.
