Heritage museum Biograd is the only cultural institution in the Biograd area, also responsible for the construction of cultural and historical of the city. It keeps precious cultural heritage of the rich history of the coast and the hinterland of Biograd. Located on the coast, in the center of Biograd it is easily accessible to anyone renting accommodation in Biograd. The building, which is a monument of culture itself, is built on the remains of the medieval walls of the late 18th century. The same building used to be the Kotar court of Emperor Franz Joseph I. The collections and the permanent exhibitions of the Biograd Heritage Museum are archeological collection, ethnographic collection, the historical section, a collection of paintings and the most popular collection "the cargo ship sunk in the XVI. century." It is a unique collection in the Adriatic, which holds more than 10.000 items from the Venetian ship which sank in the 16th century. The treasure that was hidden in the depths of the sea for centuries was discovered by accident in 1967, by a fishermen from island Murter.
