Harvest in Marija Gorica and the Zagorje region of Zagreb County begins with the now traditional international grape harvest event called "Kak su brali naši stari" (How Our Ancestors Harvested). The event "Kak su brali naši stari" symbolically marks the start of the grape harvest in this region. It does not merely showcase the harvest ceremony, which culminates in the traditional foot pressing of grapes and the tasting of must but also offers additional activities such as a bicycle ride, a competition in preparing kotlovina (a traditional dish), and folk festivities. This project is organized by the Tourist Board of the Savsko-Sutla Valley and Hills and is supported by the Zagreb County Tourist Board. The event kicks off with a horse-drawn carriage ride through Marija Gorica to the Municipality of Dubravica, where the vineyards are located for grape picking.
