You have picked an apartment, a room or a vacation house in Orebic. Now pick a summer evening or early morning, autumn or spring, to climb up and reach the Convent of Our Lady of Angels placed on 150 meters above the sea. It is not that high, you'll probably say, but the view which welcome you from above is one of those thing you'll remember for the rest of your lives. Beneath your feet will lay the Channel of Peljesac, islands Korčula, Mljet and Lastovo, with Cempresada below Lady, famous forest reservoir of Orebic. Here you can spot dancing trees of Coastal and Aleppo pine, cypress, pine, olive and carob. The Convent is built in 16th century in Gothic-Renaissance style. It has the main building with four wings and the church with belfry. There is a historical fact that sailors of all Dubrovnik region were stopping their boats beneath the Convent for Franciscans to bless their navigation with long ringing of the church bell. The Convent is visited by many tourists for centuries and the church has a holly mass regularly. It was first mentioned by Russian writer Petar Tolstoj at the end of 19th century, by German prince Philipp Coburg later at the beginning of 20th century, and British writer Seaton Watson in 1913.
