Zavala is small and pleasant village on the South side of island. It counts only 144 residents. It is a favorite ousting spot for all of those who are fortunate enough to discover the charm of Hvar, as well as the locals. Specificity of that location is nearby island Šćedro, well know of it’s wild intact nature, must see on Hvar. It is only 2,5 kilometers away and the boat from Zavala is shipping every day to Šćedro.
In Zavala there are no hotels, shopping centers, romp or noise. It is peaceful piece of lost paradise; lodging is possible only in private houses and apartments. Driving through a tunnel, few kilometers away is Jelsa, urbanized little town, with restaurants, bars, shops and vivid nightlife and anything one can imagine for active vacation. Zavala is surrounded by stiff hill-sides covered with golden and green vineyards which makes the nature around it even more unforgettable. And the one who tastes full and rich domestic vine, capturing the sun and salt in glasses, will come back for sure!
