Lastovo is the largest settlement on the island of Lastovo, which was declared a natural park in 2007. There are 46 islets and reefs around Lastovo. The nature and coastal diversity attracts many boaters, as well as travelers who are in search of wildlife and the magic of playful Mother Nature. The northern and western coast of the island of Lastovo is the most indented. The Zaklopatica Bay is just 2.5 km from the island's center, and 7 km away from the ferry port of Ubli. It is not just the location that attracts the curious. It is known that Lastovo with lush forest vegetation is one of the most wooded Croatian islands, thus it is not difficult to imagine a magical bay, with fireworks in the vortex of the green and the clean turquoise sea. Bay opens a view of nearby island of Korcula and Lastovo passage. In the lap of the bay there are about ten houses, mostly fishermen's, and several restaurants that guarantee an exceptional gastronomic experience. The Zaklopatica bay, is the haven and the best getaway from the hustle and bustle. The peace is disturbed only by the whisper of the sea and singing birds. If you hear something like the cry of a small child, do not panic, rare bird species Puffinus yelkouan nests here with the characteristic song, which is another testament of the conservation and the value of nature of the archipelago of Lastovo.
