Zagreb Zoo

Zagreb Zoo is located in Maksimir Park, near the Dinamo Football Stadium, on the eastern edge of the city center. Maksimir Park is also called the Wild Heart of the City, with the largest Zoo in Croatia settled on the southern outskirts of that wilderness. The Zoo was founded in 1925 with only 6 animals - visitors could meet only three foxes and three owls back then. The story is quite different today - there are 275 animal species with a total of 2225 individuals tn the area of about 7 hectares. Due to it, Zagreb zoo is the richest in Croatia and, as such, a member of the Association of Zoological Gardens. From the red panda through numerous species of snake to the bison and the horses, crocodiles, tapers, wolves, lions, bears, and many other animals, the Zagreb zoo is a place of chirping and screaming across lively meadows, with upgrades of animal dwellings from year to year, expanding it and building so that visitors can experience the animal world of our planet in a more complete manner, and so that the animals have the comfort of their home, forest, savanna, jungle, steppe. Get to know the sloth and adopt his steps through the zoo that offers hours of entertainment and education, for the big ones and the small. Like all zoos, the function of the institution is not only in the display of animals but also in their protection and public education. The Zagreb Zoo has a variety of educational and entertainment programs, and all individuals can adopt an animal. Of course, the animal will still be living in the zoo, where it has the optimum living conditions, but with your charity, it can have the best possible care. If you have rented an accommodation in Zagreb for visiting the zoo, you will not starve here, you can dine here at the At Sea Lion`s Restaurant, and the name was not randomly selected - there are sea lions with cubs swimming under the restaurant terrace - zoo animals are more likely to live longer than those in the wild, and many specimens survive precisely because of the environment that protects them and provides favorable conditions for reproduction. Wear a comfortable footwear because there are many steps ahead of you to get to the tropical forests of the zoo, or enter the rainfall Africa or monsoon forest. You will save money for travel, and for a ticket price of 10 for children up to 30 adults, travel to other continents and socialize with monkeys, anteater or alpaca. For more information, visit zoo.hr and spend an unforgettable day, from 9 am to 6 pm of it`s working hours, in the heart of Zagreb's wilderness.
