Veliki zal Beach is one of those long pebble beaches that connect the fascinating coastline of the island of Cres. Though the village in the interior of the island, you do not have to worry that you will be left out of enjoying the magic of salt drops on your tanned skin if you rent an apartment, room or a holiday home in Ustrine. This pebble beach is just a 15-minute walk from the centre of the village, with a narrow asphalted road leading to it that descends to the sea through the low Mediterranean flora and hills overgrown with thick forests. In the summer, when you can hear crickets sing from a cracked bark of wood, and the asphalt glows, this road can be quite crowded. There is a ramp on the road that allows entry to the local population only then. Leave your car in a thick shade to rest, and rather walk to the beach. There is a shower with fresh water there, and a gentle downhill to the sea, which attracts families with children who adore the tireless games in the abundance of pebble of Veli zal (The Great Beach) beach. Great beach for a great vacation on the Adriatic.
