Trogir is a town in middle Dalmatia, 25 kilometers on west from Split. Trogir, as a village was founded by Greek colonists in the 3rd century before Christ. Later, as part of the Roman Empire, Trogir emphasized with the quality marble. At that time, life is not taking place only in the city but also in the field, in rustic homes.
Total population of Trogir is 12995 inhabitants and it is one of larger Dalmatian towns. Climate is Mediterranean, with very hot and sunny summers.
As developed town, and well known tourist destination, Trogir has a lot of hotels, but also a lot of accommodation capacities are in private apartments, villas and camps.
Trogir is very interested for tourists who like to see the sights. There are a lot of museums and galleries where could be found really old collections of all kinds. Northern city gates are also very interesting sight to be visited, just as Palace Garagnin–Farfoga, which is also a museum. Trogir Cathedral is very interesting sight too. Fortress Kamerlengo is also something what should not be missed when you go in sightseeing, just as Palace Cipico. Trogir is a treasure trove of art or "city museum”.
