Terme Istra

Terme Istra or Istarske toplice used to be known as Terme Santo Stefano, due to the spring of Sv. Stjepan, which is located next to the spa. Terme Istra are imprinted in the green landscape of the northwest of the peninsula, at the foot of the Gorostas rock, which gives the whole landscape a surreal look, and makes Terme Istra one of the most beautiful in Croatia. The spring of healing water is right below the 85 meters high Gorostas, and its water are famous for sulfur properties and 14 types of minerals that have been proven to have a beneficial effect on our health and energy. The spring is one the three most healing in Europe. Archaeologists have found evidence that people discovered this place in Antics, and the first written document mentioning the spring dates from 1650. Many legends are associated with with this miraculous water that springs in this forests of Motovun. The place is truly fabulous, nature alone heals here, and the peace that is abundantly bestowed by the forests surrounding the spa leads us to a parallel world that knows no stress of modern life.
