Poljana is the smallest place on the island of Ugljan, 10 kilometers from Preko Ferry Port. The village is squeezed between Preko and Sutomišćica in a picturesque bay enclosed by the peninsula of Sv. Petar with the church of the same name on it. Church of Sv. Petar in Poljana on Ugljan was erected in the 13th century in Romanesque style, and later renovated and it is a monument to the island's history and civilization of the Mediterranean today. The local road and the promenade by the sea is leading up to the point of the peninsula where the church is located, and the whole place overlooks the mainland and the city of Zadar across the canal.
