Summer of folklore in Sv. Filip i Jakov

If you find an apartment, room or holiday house in Sv. Filip and Jakov in July, you will have a unique opportunity to introduce the folk heritage and culture of Croatia. Throughout the summer, especially during the second half of July, Filipjakovo is the stage for the folk performances of KUDs from Croatia and abroad. The event was initiated by KUD Sv. Roko whose members work diligently throughout the winter to make the summer nights dancing, with dance steps that are memorized and preserved through the centuries. The opening of the Summer of folklore is especially ceremonial and with the parade of all the participants, and the gastronomic delicacies of the region are served, and the song lasts till the tiniest hours of the morning. Summer of folklore in Sv. Filip i Jakov is more and more interesting year after year, and the special part of the traditional dances by which numerous dance groups represent their surroundings and its heritage, are the folk costumes in which dancers appear. Summer of folklore is the inspiration to many artists and lovers of the cultural diversity of the world.
