Selce is a village south of Crikvenica, which administratively belongs to. It is situated in a picturesque bay, very close to Crikvenica, 35 kilometers south of Rijeka on one of the most diverse and beautiful parts of Adriatic coast. The mild climate, with more than 2500 hours of sunshine per year, average summer temperature of 23 degrees Celsius and average annual temperature of 14 degrees Celsius allows a pleasant stay all year round. Population is 1623 inhabitants, according to population census from 2001.
Guest accommodation is in five hotels, two camps, family houses and a large number of rooms and apartments in private homes. In addition, guests have at their disposal a large number of restaurants, pizzerias, taverns, cafe bars and ice cream parlors, souvenir shops, bank, post office, pharmacy, a small harbor for boats, tennis courts and miniature golf, bowling, handball courts and a lot more. There is also a diving center with diving school. Selce has more than 100 years of tradition in tourism.
Some interesting sights is Selce are four chapels (of St. Katharine, of St. Joseph, of St. Fabian and Sebastian, and of St. Jurja), mill for olives called Toc, and also Church of St. Katherine.
