Sculpture in sand Festival Lopar Rab

It is not difficult to grasp why are the ancient Romans had named the island of Rab the Island of happiness. Rab is Croatia's most sandy island, with 22 sandy beaches. Most sandy beaches cover the northern shores of the island, and there is Lopar too, a place with two coves where paradise beaches are located. It is also the name of one of those two - Paradise Beach - the most famous Rab`s sandy beach. It is less known that Paradise Beach in Rab turns into an open-air atelier every year in June, a place for sculptors and artists who do not need a massive tool for making wondrous sculptures - just a little sand and a lot of imagination. The Sand Sculpture festival in Rab is actually intended for anyone who loves to build castles in the sand and want to try out more imaginative constructions. A few days of the sand festival, we look into the eyes of the animal world from sand and revive the fantasy creatures from our imagination. There is a contest of the most attractive sculpture and the best photo from the festival. Everyone, artists, hosts, and guests participate in the festival. Just as children are happy in the sandbox, happiness spreads over Paradise Beach at the time of the festival, and the whole bay becomes a great playground for adults and children.
