The Saccorgiana Bay and Beach in Pula are located in the tourist area of Veruda, between Monsival and Verudela. It is one of the most popular beaches in Pula and thus quite crowded in summer time. It is close to many tourist facilities with plenty of parking lots in the wood above the bay, and therefore a favorite gathering place for all generations, families with children, guests staying in the apartments, rooms or holiday houses in Pula. Part of the beach is reserved for dog owners, and the ones without pets will enjoy in the choice between the rocky parts on the sides and pebble stripe in the heart of the bay. The sea is extraordinarily clean, even when there are crowds, partly enclosed for swimmers with numerous activities on the beach. Parents will provide children with additional entertainment on the nearby children's playground, and they can relax in one of the bars and restaurants on the beach. The sea temperature is higher than elsewhere in Pula due to the cove that is deepened into the inland and which is further protected by a large dock from the consistent southern winds. A curiosity is that the Italian airship was taken down on the beach, back in the World War I, as witnessed by the preserved photography with the surreal scene of the partly deflated Zeppelin. Today there is no Zeppelin, but there are all sorts of inflated stuff for a cheerful enjoyment of summer joy.
