Putniković is a village on the Pelješac peninsula in Ston municipality. It encompasses the surrounding villages that are famous for the production of quality wines. The agricultural cooperative Putniković has been active here since 1911, with its tradition and experience found the way to foreign markets. Their Plavac mali, Maraština and Rukatac wines are well known, and quality is also exhibited in their basements that attract wine lovers from all over the world. Putniković is located 30 kilometers from Međugorje and Korčula and 70 from Dubrovnik Airport. According to the last census, Putniković has only one hundred inhabitants in 40 households, and many are involved in wine-growing and tourism. Accommodation can be found in modern apartments and holiday houses in Putniković. Nearly half of the population are members of the Cultural-Artistic Society Putniković, which has been active in the area since 1996.
