Punta Planka near Ražanj, also known as Cape Ploča or the Croatian Cape Horn, is a unique place located 13 kilometers southeast of Rogoznica, just two kilometers from the center of Ražanj. If you have rented accommodation in Ražanj, you can easily reach this spot with a half-hour leisurely walk along a well-trodden dirt road that follows the left bank of Stivašnica Cove. When we say this place is unique, it is for several reasons. Firstly, Punta Planka near Ražanj is the easternmost point of the Adriatic coast. There is a small island with the same name across the cape. This is the point that separates the middle Dalmatia, where winds collide and battle for dominance amidst the surging waves. The cape, seemingly ordinary and unimposing in its rocky beauty, is a place where sea currents break, thus it was the site of many shipwrecks in the past. At the top of the cape stands the Church of St. John of Trogir, built in the 14th century in memory of the legend of how St. John of Trogir saved the Hungarian-Croatian king Koloman from a shipwreck near the cape. You can start an active vacation in Ražanj right here because you can reach the cape on foot or by bike, and it is often a destination for divers who enjoy exploring wrecks and the rich marine life around Punta Planka.
