Port of Ploče

Port of Ploče is one of the most important ports on the eastern coast of the Adriatic and a key point for the transportation of goods, cargo, and passengers in the region. If you plan to take advantage of the transportation connectivity of this port with the rest of the Mediterranean, the Adriatic, and Central Europe, consider booking accommodation in Ploče. The port is located 60 kilometers from Mostar Airport, 120 kilometers from Čilipi Airport near Dubrovnik, and 140 kilometers from Split Airport. Situated along the Adriatic Highway, it is also connected to the A1 motorway. Opened for traffic on July 15, 1945, despite wartime events, the construction that began in 1938 was not halted. Today, it spans over 230 hectares of land, hosting a passenger terminal from which ferries depart for Trpanj on the Pelješac Peninsula. Port of Ploče has an annual cargo handling capacity of 5 million tons of general and bulk cargo, with a storage capacity of 600 thousand tons, making it one of the most significant ports on the shores of the Adriatic Sea.
