Podstrana is a small town and a district in Splitsko-Dalmatinska County, very close to Split, on the south. According to population census from the year 2001, total population of Podstrana is 7341 inhabitants, with an average age of 33,5. Tourism in Podstrana is in a constant development. Accommodation capacities are mainly in private apartments and villas, but also in a few smaller hotels. As it is only about 7 kilometers away from the old core of Split, it could be a great destination for holidays outside of a big town, but with all benefits which it offers.
