Pelješac Bridge connects the mainland and the peninsula, linking Brijesta on the Pelješac Peninsula and Komarna on the mainland. If you have rented accommodation in Brijesta, you are at an important crossroads and have the opportunity to enhance your stay with a series of day trips. The Pelješac Bridge is 2,404 meters long and is one of the strategically important projects for the territorial integrity of Croatia. Before the bridge construction, all routes to the south led through the territory of neighboring Bosnia and Herzegovina and its access to the sea at Neum. The bridge spans the Bay of Mali Ston and bypasses the territory of the neighboring country, so there is no need to show documents on the way to Dubrovnik anymore. The idea of connecting the south with the rest of the country dates back to the 1990s, but construction only began in 2018. The Pelješac Bridge was opened to traffic on July 26, 2022. In just its first year, more than two million vehicles crossed the bridge. Thanks to the bridge, tourism is thriving on Pelješac and in the surrounding areas to the southernmost parts of the country.
