Pećine beach in Rijeka is the coastal belt that stretches from Brajdica to Plumbum. This last vivid name is the name of the lead smelter that used to rise here - the smelter was closed a long time ago, in 1929, but the name that describes this area still remains. If you have rented an apartment, room or holiday house in Rijeka, you can reach Pećine by public bus lines that run to Podvežica, the city district under which Pećine stretches. The Pećine are a curiosity of Rijeka - the coast is steep here, and numerous coastal caves are cut in the gorges. Even such a coast has its hospitable places, so here we can swim and enjoy the charms of summer on as many as six beaches: Glavanovo, Grčevo, Ružićevo, Sablićevo, Villa Olga and Park Hotel. But, in addition to these larger beaches, there are also Brajdica for swimming with pets, Križić and Srebrena with a narrow belt of pebbles that is loved by locals and guests. Most of the beaches are arranged and equipped, and the narrow steps that lead to them are like descending into a parallel universe - one in which there is no time or obligation, just enjoying the warm waters of the Adriatic and the leisure of sunny days. Villa Olga, Galvanovo and Park Hotel, and Grčevo and Ružićevo are are connected by a coastal road, so you can discover their charms by walking along the sea. There are also catering facilities on the beaches of Pećina in Rijeka, so here you can find everything you need for a all day long relaxation with a view of the sea and the slopes of Krk island in the distance.
