Dr. Franjo Racki Park in Fuzine

The famous Croatian historian and politician, Franjo Racki, was born in 1828 in Fuzine. He is the most famous for the establishment of the Yugoslav Academy of Arts and Sciences which he headed for 20 years as well. Together with Josip Juraj Strossmayer founds the People's Party and was elected to parliament three times. In addition to his political activities, he was studying the history of the South Slavs and editing as much as two journals that published articles on national history. Racki died and was buried in Zagreb. Fuzine is proud with the legacy of Franjo Racki. In addition to his native home, which is marked by a commemorative plaque, there is Dr. Franjo Racki Park which was named of the famous intellectual arranged in Fuzine in 2006. Park is not only a nice place for a walk and children's games on the regulated field, it is the central meeting place of people of Fuzine. Different events are held here often but the most famous is that one of the New Year's celebration at noon.
