Pakoštane is a little village, situated in the center of the Adriatic coast in a unique position between the sea and the Vransko Lake. Four national parks (Krka, Kornati, Paklenica and Plitvice Lakes) and two nature parks (Telašćica and Vransko Lake) surrounding Pakoštane. In the waters of the municipality Pakoštane, in part around the island Vrgade is 13 islands and islets. Total population of Pakoštane municipality is 3884 inhabitants, but just Pakoštane has 2730 inhabitants, according to population census from the year 2001. In the year 1527, Pakoštane, together with Zablaće, had 164 inhabitants, so it is visible a big progress in demography. There are two tourist villages in Pakoštane, what makes its tourist offer even better and gives it additional quality. Main accommodation capacities are in private apartments and auto camps. In the neighborhood exists many camps, and some of them are private. All have very good offer. As four national parks surrounding Pakoštane, during the season are organized tours for tourists to visit them on daily basis. Sports are appreciated in Pakoštane, and alongside with many sport opportunities you can choose, you can also ride a bicycle from Pakoštane to Biograd n/m as bicycle road is arranged. Some sights are located at the small islets just across Pakoštane, like the Church of St. Justin.
