Pag is a town on the same name island. It contains 11 villages.
Island Pag is one of the biggest Croatian islands. With 285 km2, the fifth largest, and with 270 km of indented coastline is the island with the longest coastline on the Adriatic, rich with coves, bays, beaches and capes. The biggest, Pag bay is rounded by 20 km of the gravel beach.
Population of town Pag is 4350 inhabitants. Pag is the biggest place on the island. It is the town of sea salt. Sea salt from the Pag is known in the whole Croatia, and even wider. Just as Pag lace, and Pag cheese.
Tourism is the most important industry in Pag. First bigger development of tourism in Pag has been recorded 50 years ago, but tourism in Pag started much earlier. Pag has about 10000 accommodation capacities, and is visited by about 100000 tourists during the season. Most capacities are in private apartments and camps, and the rest is in hotel accommodation. About 60 % of tourists in Pag are foreign guests.
Pag is full of sights. The most important are Congregation Church of the Assumption of Mary, the Rector's Palace and Tower Skrivanat - the only one remaining of nine towers that are along the walls, once surrounded the city.
