Old village Brist

Old village Brist is settled near Brist in Makarska Riviera. Old village is distanced from the sea because of danger which used to come from the open sea in the past. That is why many Dalmatian settlements were up in hills, same as Old village Brist. Many stone houses are left on slopes of Biokovo mountain today, along with St. Magdalena church, which was first built in 15th century. It was renewed in 18th, and finally in year of 1968, after a devastating earthquake few decades before. The church keeps mausoleum of family Kačić. It is the family of famous Dalmatian poet, Andrija Kačić Miošić, born in one of stone houses in Old village. Take a walk across streets of this mystical place, carved in stone, in order to please your curiosity and to sense old dalmatian spirit, which cannot be spotted from a window of your cosy apartment, room or vacation house in Brist and surroundings.
