Okrug Donji is the smaller tourist settlement in Okrug county, the county taking few square kilometres of island Čiovo, with two settlements: Okrug Gornji and Okrug Donji. They both count over 2000 inhabitants, although that number multiplies in summer months due to the 500 rental objects, holiday houses and apartments. Okrug is about 40 kilometres away from Diocletian’s town Split and just 4 kilometres away from Trogir, famous small town with city centre under the protection of UNESCO. Čiovo seems more like peninsula, since it is connected with Trogir by a small drawbridge, making Čiovo and Okrug available to a car or a bus in any time.As Trogir is known of its beauty, tourist infrastructure, numerous restaurants, cafés, bars and amusement all night long, Okrug is known of its beaches, intimate coves with beach bars, sandy and pebble strands suitable both for water sport activities and calm and secure time with little children. Okrug Donji will knock you over with its simplicity, colourful maritime landscape and the aria of crickets in the soft summer afternoons.Accommodation can be found in private houses. Cosy and well equipped apartments and rooms are available to all the needs a guest can have. Weather they are located right there on the beach or over the hill, the first thing you’ll feel in the morning, is freshness of salty air and closeness of the bluish Adriatic sea. Okrug Donji is ideal place for family rest with a possibility for easy reaching of amusement in nearby Trogir and Split; a must see Croatian destinations.
