If you ever find yourself on the slopes of Velebit, more precisely under its northern part, do not miss a visit to the National Park of Northern Velebit. Rent accommodation in Senj and surroundings to be within easy reach of the National Park and to plan expeditions along the ravines and pastures of this beautiful and powerful mountain. We owe Velebit even two national parks, Paklenica and this northern one, which covers 109 square kilometres of land. It is surrounded by an evergreen forest, a variety of wildlife and many karst phenomena that have not yet been fully explored. North Velebit is the place that always manage to surprise every guest, even if he is not here for the first time, and enchants all our senses - colours, smells and experiences. Famous sites in the Park are the strict reserves of Hajducki and Rozanski hips, Luka pit, Visibaba botanical garden, Borov Peak forest reserve, botanical reserve Zavizan-Balinovac-Velika kosa, Velebit botanical garden and Stirovaca special reserve of forest vegetation. Luka Pit was discovered only in 1999 and it is one of the deepest pits in the world with its 1431 meter of depth. Velebit is home to some endemic plant species, such as Croatian sibiras. Just as an adjective endemic means something that can not be found anywhere else in the world, neither the peace nor the beauty of North Velebit can be found anywhere except here. Here you will find yourself, that primordial you, which is an integral part of nature and which is inspired by it nature and filled with strength. Premuzic trail is most famous of hiking paths, but never take a long walk in the mountains by yourself if you do not have hiking experience. You can search for a guidance at +385 53 665 380 and / or npsv@np-sjeverni-velebit.hr. The highest ticket price is 45 kunas, but the experience is invaluable - North Velebit can not ever be forgotten.
