Nerežišća is a small picturesque village located on the island of Brač, in the middle of the island, between Supetar and Pučišća. This traditional Dalmatian village has around 860 inhabitants and is known for its stone, which is used in construction around the world. There is the parish church of St. Peter in the very center of the village, dating back to the 16th century, and the village and its surroundings have around 15 sacral objects. The most representative building is the prince palace, along with houses of prominent Brač families and numerous examples of traditional stone Dalmatian architecture that together create an unforgettable and fairy-tale atmosphere. We will look for accommodation in Nerežišća in one of these houses with a shady terrace under which the pink bougainvillea spreads.
Nerežišća is surrounded by olive groves, vineyards, and orchards, with a forest above the village that is ideal for hiking and mountaineering. The beach near Nerežišća is 10 km away and offers crystal clear sea and untouched nature.
The village has several restaurants and taverns where you can taste local food and wine, and the production of olives and olive oil is particularly prominent. Nerežišća also hosts a summer cultural and entertainment program, with various events such as concerts and traditional feasts, making it an ideal destination for a family vacation or a peaceful vacation in an authentic Dalmatian environment. There was a candy and chewing gum factory in Nerežišća once, so memories of many Croatian childhoods are colored with the flavors of Kvabon and Helf from Nerežišća.
