Murter is a small town on the same name island. It is connected with the mainland by the bridge, so it is easy to access it. Murter is about 50 kilometers away from Zadar, and 30 kilometers from Sibenik. It is well protected by the small hills Raduc, St. Roko and Gradina. Murter is mainly economic oriented to tourism, and most of the income of locals and the municipality rely on sources from the tourism and related activities, and also from agriculture and fisheries.
It has about 2000 inhabitants, who are mainly all engaged in tourism or agriculture, or both.
Accommodation is offered on about 1200 beds in hotel and private apartments. The marina has 400 berths in the sea and 200 on the ground.
As Murter is very close to national park Kornati, during the summer season tourists could go to Kornati every day by organized excursions with guide. Few beaches are really gorgeous, and you should visit beach called Slanica, where you would decide to stay for the whole day, as you would be charmed by the beauty of the nature. Restaurants and bars are just by the beach so it will not be necessary to walk away so that you can have your lunch or dinner.
