Lubenice Cres is a settlement located on the western part of the island, on a narrow ridge above the sea, at an altitude of 378 m. If you have rented an apartment in Cres, you will find Lubenice 17 kilometers south of the city center. The drive on the narrow asphalt road is challenging but unforgettable, as the road is fenced with dry walls all the way and climbs to the charming plateau surrounded by olive groves and greenery of Cres karst. Accommodation can also be found in Lubenice, although there are only about twenty houses, and a few restaurants operate here during the warm months, the most famous of which is Hibernicia - named after the old name of Lubenice. Lubenice is the most visited place on the island, four thousand years old. The high cliff on which the place is located is a perfect viewpoint that gives us unforgettable views of the sea and the coast. A narrow path leads to the beach below the place, which is dotted with houses and churches with narrow stone-paved streets. Lubenice is like a fairy tale, enchanted and frozen in time - it is hard to believe today that once more than a hundred people lived here and that a primary school operated in the place until the end of the last century. Lubenice Cres is a place that is not forgotten, a place that, once we visit it, remains deeply engraved in our memories.
