Lipik State Stud Farm

Lipik State Stud Farm is one of the oldest and most renowned stud farms in Europe. It is located in the city of the same name in Slavonia, about 100 kilometers east of Zagreb. It is easy to find affordable accommodation in Lipik. The stud farm was founded in 1843 by Count Izidor Janković, who was a passionate horse lover. In 1938, it received the status of a state stud farm. The Lipik Stud Farm specializes in breeding Lipizzaners, one of the oldest and most beautiful horse breeds in the world. Lipizzaners are known for their grace, elegance, and ability to perform complex dressage exercises. Today, the Lipik Stud Farm has about 300 horses, of which about 200 are Lipizzaners. Horses are bred in strictly controlled conditions, and their food and care are of the highest possible level. The Lipik State Stud Farm is a popular tourist attraction. Every year, the stud farm is visited by more than 100,000 visitors. Visitors can enjoy a tour of the stud farm, horse riding, and watching dressage performances. The construction of a new stud farm is underway. The 3E Projects studio from Zagreb is responsible for the design of the new home for Lipik horses. Upon completion of the works, Lipik will have a unique tourist attraction and a powerful tool for promoting horse breeding in Slavonia.
