Iž is ideal for holidays with family and friends in rented apartments, rooms or vacation houses on Iž. But this beautiful little island in the archipelago of Zadar offers much more than lying on the sunny beaches in the shade of rustling pines. The island has two larger villages; Veli Iž, on the north, and Mali Iž, facing the south. Although Veli Iz bigger, as the name of the place, says, and Mali Iz offers plenty of interesting destination worth visiting. Mali Iz is made from several hamlets scattered on the slopes of the island. Cats, Makovac, Porovac, Knez and Komoseva. Only Knez and Komoševa Iž are on the coast while the others are a 10-minute walk away from the sea. All residents and guests will get a chance to participate in workshops conducted by the Association of Eco-Zadar at the end of July and in August. The workshops are intended primarily for children, but adults are invited to engage in ecological education. The `Beautiful our Komoševa' begins with storytelling and art workshops for children, and continues with a series of actions whose primary role is to raise environmental awareness and improving the quality of life on the island. Komoseva is beautiful bay with crystal clear water, clear as a fresh June morning, interwoven with golden threads of the sun through the weave crown of green pines. This is a place for relaxation and rest, but also a place to keep and take care of pollution, rejecting extensions of modern life negligent. The workshops are ideal opportunity to teach children to love and preserve the natural heritage and how to take advantage of trouble and turn it in our favor. Here they'll learn of environment cleaning and recycling, turning discarded objects into works of art, they'll paint walls and benches, plant Mediterranean herbs and succulents. It will be all accompanied by the testimony of eco-stories, with the culmination in an exhibition of works of art collected during the campaign.
That is how Iz is telling stories about unity and diligence, people and nature, while children are learning through the play of the beauty of life and summer.
