Kantrida Stadium in Rijeka is a sports facility with a main and auxiliary stadium. The main stadium has over 10,000 seated and 2,000 standing places. Kantrida was built in 1913 and renovated several times. It covers about 21,000 square meters. What makes the stadium special is its location between the sea and the steep rock under which one of the stands is built. There used to be a quarry here, and when it was abandoned, the Victoria sports club from Sušak has built a unique sports arena in this part of the Croatian Adriatic. The first match was played between Victoria and Građanski on June 1, 1913, and today Kantrida is hosted by the first league team Rijeka. If you have rented an apartment, room or vacation house in Rijeka, the Kantrida Stadium in Rijeka is one of the locations worth visiting, also because the beaches and beach volleyball courts spread under the stadium.
