Jastrebarsko is a picturesque town in Central Croatia, somewhere halfway along the old road between Karlovac and Zagreb. We call it Jaska as well. As an administrative area, the City of Jastrebarsko includes as many as 60 settlements scattered on the hills at the foot of the Samobor and Žumberak mountains and the valleys of the Kupa and Crna Mlaka rivers. Jaska itself has about 6 thousand inhabitants while the wider area has over 17 thousand inhabitants. If you have rented an apartment or holiday house in Jastrebarsko and its surroundings, you can enjoy the beauty of untouched nature and sightseeing of numerous cultural and historical monuments. Jastrebarsko was first mentioned in the 13th century as an important trade centre. Although at the crossroads of many roads, trade is not the most important economic branch, it has always been agriculture here, and viticulture and wine production are of special importance. That is why we go to Jaska to enjoy the magical landscapes, walking, hiking and tasting local wines, brandies and food. In 2001, the Plešivića Wine Road was opened, with about 30 wineries and tasting points offering quality and premium wines, as well as other local products. Jaska Wine Festival is a widely known event that promotes the winemakers of this region, but also its pristine beauty through horse riding and cycling marathons and a series of cultural events to preserve tradition and heritage.
