Jasenovac is a small town and the center of the municipality of the same name, 10 kilometers from Novska, 35 from Kutina. Affordable accommodation in Jasenovac can be found in private holiday homes and apartments only. Jasenovac was named after a species of ash tree belonging to the olive family. This romance, which is hidden in the name of this small town of 500 inhabitants, boils everywhere in and around Jasenovac. Almost the entire municipality is located in the Lonjsko Polje Nature Park, surrounded by the rivers Trebež, Una, Sava, and the Veliki Strug canal. Jasenovac is located near the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina and can boast of significant traffic connections. It is marked by the starvation of Jews, Serbs, and Roms in the concentration camp in its area during World War II. The memorial complex with a representative stylized stone flower by the sculptor Bogdan Bogdanović from 1966 is visited by a significant number of people throughout the year, who seek accommodation in holiday houses in Jasenovac. The magical nature of the surroundings of Jasenovac calls for long walks and exploration of the natural beauty and ethnic heritage of this place.
