Apartments Balić - Hvar Ivan Dolac - Croatian Islands

This year we chose Ivan Dolac and Apartments Balić. Two families spent 2 weeks there and I must admit that we were not disappointed. The owners are very helpful and nice! Towels and bed linen are changed regularly, which is rare. Apartments located in a good location with a covered private parking space and large terraces (depending on the apartment). A few steps from the beach, a bakery and a small shop right on your doorstep! We have been going for many years always to different places but I think that we will return to the Balić apartments. Staying for 7 nights in this apartment that does not look like the apartment from the pictures, I experienced the biggest inconvenience in my life. Returning at the border, the policeman asked me where I was staying and why I wasn't registered??!!!! In amazement and shock, I tried to explain to him where I was staying and that it says that the tourist tax is included in the unrealistically high price for the accommodation we were paying! He told me that I was not registered and that I had to pay a fine of HRK 500!!!! Now, as far as the accommodation itself is concerned, the only positive (I guess it goes without saying) is that the apartment is clean. The furniture in the apartment is from the last century! The cabinets are nailed??!!! and they could not be used!!! The air conditioner is half working. As soon as we arrived, we pointed out to the hosts that the satellite channels were not working, and no one deigned to solve the problem in all 7 days!! The terrace is spacious, but you are separated from the apartment by a low wall that does not go all the way, so you, like the guests next to us, are completely deprived of intimacy. A special story is the very uncomfortable, small and ancient bed that creaks so much every time it is moved that it woke up my wife and me during all these 7 nights. All in all, we feel cheated and humiliated!!!

My husband and friends and I spent a few holidays with the extremely hospitable Balić family. It was still in the days when we could use half board. Everything from rooms, food, hospitality deserves 5 stars. And the desire to return is great. We wish you a lot of success and satisfied guests.
