Point of absolute beauty. This is the sentence which the famous travel writer Alberto Fortis had used to describe Mimice in his travel book, which is a valuable document on the history of Dalmatia today. The point of absolute beauty is located in the Omiš Riviera below the slopes of the Dinara, the highest Croatian mountain. Dinara is the mountain in the Dinaric mountains that extends across the entire area of Central Dalmatia to the south and forms a natural border between Croatia and neighboring Bosnia and Herzegovina. The highest peak of the Dinaric mountains is Troglav and is located in BiH, and a hundred meters lower Sinjal or Dinara with its 1831 meter is the highest peak in Croatia. If you find an accommodation in Mimice, you will experience the charms of the Dinara literally on your skin because its breath goes down to the pebble beaches that make the Omiš Riviera famous. Days of enjoying the summer and perfectly clean sea can easily be replaced by pedestrian paths that climb under the slopes of the mountain and which spread from Mimice like the rays of joy under the hot summer sun. Dinara is an ornithological reserve because of the specificity of its relief and the birds that inhabit it. A Griffon Vulture can be seen sometimes here in his flights to the island of Cres. Among mammals, we can encounter a brown bear, a wolf, a wildcat, a fox, a boar, a badger and a rabbit, but they rarely descend to the hiking trails and paths at the foot of the mountain. If you decide to meet the beauty of the mountain up close and pass some hiking trails at Dinara near Mimice, be aware that your only enemy is inappropriate footwear and a lack of drinking water. Dinara also has 15 species of lizards inhabited here, snakes and amphibians, most endangered species due to narrowing of the living space and human activity. Thus let's our trip to Dinara leave no trace, but happiness in our hearts, and a note in our memories of one perfect day in the nature of absolute beauty.
