Hiking Duće

Although this part of the coast is famous for sandy beaches in Duce, the place offers much more than lying in the sun by the sea. The Omiš region is famous for its range of recreational and sports facilities, thus there is no reason not to spend an active holiday in Duće. The hiking trail starts already in Omiš, but passes through Duće from where it climbs towards the old village of Staro Duće. The route Omiš - Staro Duće - Naklice is 14 km long - there is the asphalt road leading from Duce to the old village, and after the village a macadam road begins that is quickly turning to the hiking path. The climb is mild and goes across the hill Mošnica, passes by the Church of the Lady of Snow to the top of Čeline at 456 meters above sea level. The descent leads along the other side of the hill and across the hill Komorjak with a steep path through the village of Naklice. This route is attractive to mountain bike enthusiasts as well. Hiking in Duće is a challenge also due to the beautiful scenery on the hills of the Dalmatian Zagora and Omiš coast. However, do not get into this challenge without a plan, adequate equipment and refreshments, especially on hot summer days when you have booked an accommodation in Duće.
