Ferrata Hvar

Ferrata Hvar is located in the hills above Sveta Nedjelja, a sunny village on the southern shores of the island of Hvar. Ferrata is the common name for a railway which comes from the Italian language and can still be heard in some parts of Dalmatia. But the Ferrata here has a different meaning. Here, too, comes from the Italian Via Ferrata, which literally means the iron path, and it is a system of steel cords, ladders, and wedges that make it possible to climb into inaccessible mountain peaks. Ferrata Hvar is named Via Avalon and it is the result of a five-year work by Cliffbase team enthusiasts who have invested hours and hours of effort to make the Ferrata safe for all adventurers and fearless climbers in 2019. If you are looking for an active vacation on Hvar or you are staying in some of the cozy private apartments, rooms or holiday houses in Sveta Nedjelja on Hvar, perhaps the Ferrata will inspire you for hiking across the southern slopes of the island, offering views of the magnificent sunny vineyards and olive groves, and a blend of aromatic plants of the island and the Mediterranean. But the Ferrata itself is intended for those with a strong heart and a solid stomach. The climb to the Ferrata is secured by small narrow stairs carved in the rock, and the metal bridge is rocking high above the village. It is not just the Ferrata that is intended for adventurers, there are numerous alpine trails are on the rocks above Sveta Nedjelja, many of which are there due to the enthusiasm and dedication of the Cliffbase team.
