You have rented an apartment, room or holiday house in Buje or around, the day is not quite ideal for swimming and you do not have a concrete plan. Why don`t you meet Bujstina, its customs and people, through exhibits of Ethnographic Museum located in the main square, in the heart of the town. The museum was founded in 1970 and today has 186 exhibits in the concept reconstructed by the employees of the Ethnographic Museum of Istria seated in Pazin. The old building which housed a Museum exhibition is located along the ramparts of the 17th century. Its four floors gathers material heritage with an emphasis on folk handicrafts which reflect a range of traditional crafts and lifestyle of old Istrians. It is interesting that here you can see the complete reconstruction of the space for processing olives, forges, looms, and others. There are fascinating specimens of chests carved in wood exposed at the top floor, and the same room is used for temporary exhibitions. Schedule of exhibitions and opening hours can be found by calling 385 52 772 023.
