Drašnice is another small tourist village in Makarska Riviera. It is located on Adriatic Highway, on slopes of the mountain Biokovo. Today it has population of 330 inhabitants, who are mainly occupied with tourism and fishing. Accommodation in Drašnice is available in private apartments, houses and motels. This place is perfect for peaceful vacation, while you can inform about local customs and hard life of Drašnice fishermen. First time Drašnice is mentioned in 1477th as “Dračnica”. From cultural aspect, there are many churches: church of St. Stjepan na Koledniku, church of St. Jurje, church of St. Roko, church of St. Nikola and many more. But Drašnice is not only known because of culture, since there are many beautiful beaches and they are probably most important reason why tourists come back every year. There is a long pebble beach where you can enjoy your favorite book, while your children have fun in the sea. Near beach you can find water spring “Izbitac”.
