Donji Karin Beach

Donji Karin beach is sharing the same name of the settlement nearby, and it is perhaps the best beach resort in this part of the Zadar County. It stretches along the coast of Karin Sea, near the place where the river Krisnica moths into the sea. Valley of river Karisnica is under protection as significant landscape and the area of Novigrad and Karin Sea is included in the ecological network. It is not difficult to conclude that it is due to the clean sea at the Donji Karin beach while natural position near the confluence of two rivers is contributing to the relatively shallow waters which are suitable for swimmers of all ages and capabilities. The beach is equipped, although not rich with content which gives it a special charm and a lower population density in the summer time. Relatively large parking lot is located along the beach and on the beach you will find several bars, volleyball, basketball, table tennis and showers. Just enough for an active holiday at the Adriatic Sea with loved ones. However, on the Donji Karin beach you can encounter something (or someone) you will not find on other beaches here. It is more likely to encounter it in the spring months, so it is not necessary that you rent an apartment, a room or a vacation house in Donji Karin and destination just during summer months. Donji Karin Beach has unusual guests, namely here appears otter, which in addition to fresh water, may dwell in the sea as well. "Swims like an otter," we sa here for an excellent swimmer, but little is known that otter needs a lot of food to make up for all that energy it has. So sea otters eat 20 to 25% of its weight daily.
