Cres Tower rises on a hill near the old town center and is the only preserved tower of the five towers that used to make up the fortification system that surrounded the town of Cres. If you have rented accommodation in Cres, you will be amazed at its preservation, even though it dates from the 16th century. This tower was located at the highest point of the walls: the branches of the walls passed through Put fortece Street and Zagreb Street and met right at this tower. Because of its position, it had a defensive and scouting function. Today, the Cres Tower is open to visitors, and you can climb to its roof with a ticket.
