Čigoč is a small town at the entrance to Lonjsko polje, 28 kilometers from Sisak. According to the latest population census, the number of inhabitants has halved, with only 50 souls living there now. Čigoč is famous. Not only among Croats, but beyond our borders, as the first declared European village of the stork. Accommodation in Čigoč introduces us to the tradition of life along the Sava River and its fertile fields, in harmony with nature and its whims. There are slightly more than 40 houses in Čigoč, and a stork has built a nest on each of them. They fly back in the young spring, and the beauty of their wings floats above our heads, and the steady standing on one leg in the middle of the nest reminds us of the beauty of accepting people and life, of the simplicity of the basic needs that still adorn Croatian villages. Most of the houses are still wooden, thus the holiday house in Čigoč will be like that, imbued with the beauty of past times and immersed in the primordial magic of natural life.
