Sweet December brought a novelty to the gastronomic and cultural offer of the city of Zagreb. The first Chocolate Museum in Zagreb was opened in December 2019, and in Croatia in general. Nine out of ten people will say they love chocolate, and a tenth will lie to us, they say about the popularity of these sticky, thick, delicious ingredient that is unavoidable, especially on holiday days. But where does chocolate come from and how is it made? To find that out, we'll head to Varšavska street no. 5 in Zagreb and buy a ticket to the Chocolate Museum. If we have rented an apartment, room or holiday house in Zagreb, we will find the Museum right in the center of the city, close to Cvjetni trg (Flower Square). It will entice us with the sweet scent of cocoa and the promise of an unforgettable journey through chocolate history. A ticket to the Museum is also a tasting kit with chocolate samples, and variants are tasted at several spots in the Museum. What is the taste of cocoa beans and what is ruby chocolate like? We will only reveal to you that chocolate was first tasted by the Indians, so the first room of the Museum takes us to the Rainforest of Central America. The museum will lead us on through the centuries of the chocolate delicacies as we know them today and the shop where we can buy top quality chocolate products from local craftsmen. The Museum is owned by the Cerovac family, who have visited many chocolate museums all over Europe. None of those delighted them with their white walls and showcases, so the Cerovac family decided to tell a different story about chocolate and open their own museum, which will take us through an unforgettable sweet experience of enjoying the most beloved food in the world. Sweeten your Advent in Zagreb by visiting the sweetest museum in the city!
